FAQs - The Matt Dawson Rugby Academy

Will I receive any more information after I have made a booking?

Immediately after booking you will receive a confirmation email. You will also receive further information by email 2 weeks prior to an academy giving you more details about the course. There will also be a medical information form attached to the email that we ask you to fill in and bring to the registration.

Where do I drop off/pick up my child at an academy?

Our staff will make it very clear where the registration point is at every venue. Drop off and pick up will be at this spot every day.

What should my child bring?

Your child is welcome to bring his or her own rugby equipment, however we will provide all necessary equipment. It is advisable that you send your child with indoor shoes along with rugby/football boots.

Will you provide lunch for my child?

Please provide your child with a packed lunch.

What should my child wear?

Each child should wear clothing appropriate for rugby along with a water proof jacket. We’d also advise sending a full set of spare clothing as we do expect children to get muddy throughout the course.

Will you provide drinks and snacks?

Yes, however you are welcome to send your child with their own.

Where do you recruit your staff from?

Our staff are recruited directly from county RFU’s . As a result they all hold an RFU qualification and are highly skilled in coaching and dealing with children.

Do your coaches receive in-house training?

Yes, all our coaches will have been on training days with us so they are fully prepared as to how each academy should be run and what to do in the event of any situation.

If I want to know how my child is getting on at an academy, what do I do?

We have a welfare officer on site at every camp at all times. Any parent can ring our office on 01332 865284 and they will then contact the welfare officer to see how a child is getting on. Our office will then report directly back to the parent.
